ANSI complied - Z87+

ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2020

American National Standard for Occupational and Educational Personal Eye and Face Protection Devices

This part of the standard specifies the requirements, testing, permanent marking, selection, care, and use of protectors to minimize the occurrence and severity or prevention of injuries from such hazards as impact, non-ionizing radiation and liquid splash exposures in occupational and educational environments including, but not limited to, machinery operations, material welding and cutting, chemical handling, and assembly operations.

Standard product marking for compliance with ANSI Z87.1-2020 is Z87. Additional markings denoting specific protection features include:

Z87+ / Z87-2+: Impact-rated protection

Z87-2: Prescription (Rx) lenses

H: Limited coverage

O2: Relaxed optical correction

W (shade number): Welding filter lens

U (scale number): Ultraviolet filter lens

R (scale number): Infrared filter lens

L (scale number): Visible light filter lens

V: Variable tint lens

S: Special purpose lens

X: Anti-fog coating

D3: Protection from splash and droplets

D4: Protection from dust

D5: Protection from fine dust

Products bearing the marking Z87 meet the minimum requirements of this standard. Those marked Z87+ indicate enhanced protection, having passed additional high-velocity and high-mass impact tests to provide superior resistance in more hazardous environments. This marking assures wearers of increased safety from flying debris, chemical splashes, and intense radiation exposure.
